Progress Update needed due to risk of hacking

Situation report

Progress update matters 1200x620

Our LISA application is built with components from Progress Software. Those components are set up by our CCE consultants as securely as possible from the start of a project so they are basically inaccessible to unauthorised persons or hackers.

Code and components are continuously scanned for vulnerabilities, and patched if required. To reduce the risk of problems, a frequent Progress update is required. This is mainly for those that communicate with the outside world such as OpenEdge Explorer and PASOE (Application server). Both are deployed by LISA to make web services available. For example, to let your webshop or other links communicate with LISA.

Reaction from Progress Software

Progress Software has provided a solution in the form of updates for OpenEdge 11.7.18 and 12.2.16. This drastically reduces the risk of problems.

What will CCE do?

Over the coming weeks and months you will be contacted by your regular CCE contact to install these updates should you need one. If your LISA version was already running on a recent version of Progress OpenEdge, the impact will be very limited.

Consequently, especially with hacking as it currently is, we recommend keeping your system as up-to-date as possible.
